While at the airport, we made a stop at a unique and interactive art wall. Projected onto some screens were these umbrellas that when approached would interact with your movement. It was really quite neat, and my husband and I were entertained "like children" as a passerby mentioned "see those aren't just for the kids."

Snowed-in Minnesota: An Unscheduled Adventure
A few weeks ago we were trying to travel to my good friends' wedding, a blizzard hit the Minnesota area and trapped us at our midway point. We made the most of it and found beauty in some unexpected places :D

Day of Adventure - Seattle
I love the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and what better place to explore its busy nature than to venture into Pike's Place Market of Seattle? I had so much fun on this adventure with Katie and look forward to going back to Seattle this weekend.

The Photo Shoot Project
I know that I often post a series of pictures from my photography adventures, but there has been something on my mind and on my heart.
So many women watch shows like America's Next Top Model, look in magazines such as Vogue and Style, and think to themselves: That would be so much fun! This made me start to think about a project, that enables women who are not in the fashion industry to experience the photo shoots that are for the elite. After all, isn't every woman someone special, someone beautiful, someone of importance?
So this marks the day that I will be working to help women have the photo shoots of their dreams! If you have an idea or dream for a photo shoot let me know on the Art Whims Photography facebook fan page or in a comment on this blog post. I am looking forward to working with women to capture those awesome pictures they always wanted!

Day of Adventure - Exploring the Neighborhood
Sometimes as a photographer it is important to visit the familiar, the everyday, and find a new perspective and new vision in the areas that we find to be the day to day. It trains the eye and captures moments that might otherwise go unobserved.
I explored my neighborhood not too long ago and wanted to share what I found. I cannot wait to explore the neighborhood again!

Views of a Mountain: Mt. Rainier
I am taking advantage of the sunny days we are having in Western Washington by going out and photographing the beauty many of us have grown to love: Mt. Rainier. For history regarding Mt. Rainier I would encourage you to visit Mount Rainier National Park Website: http://www.nps.gov/mora/historyculture/

From the Shores of Lake Kapowsin
Nestled along the backroads of south pierce county you will find Lake Kapowsin. I loved how quiet it was back there. I could have sat watching the water for hours!
A hint of fog made the scene have a mysterious atmosphere. |

Day of Adventure - Exploring Clouds through Black and White Photography
There is something about Black and White Photography that will always captivate me. It tells a story, it has soul, it is breathtaking. I decided to explore the clouds through black and white photography last week and these are a couple of my favorite photos.
It was a perfectly cloudy day in the countryside. |
I loved the way the light was hitting these clouds! |

Day of Adventure - Exploring South Pierce County
I ventured out to Eatonville and Steilacoom today with my dear friend Jess and her son Andrew to explore the world in the rain. I grew up in Eatonville, so I took roads I had never been on before and found many beautiful scenes. I cannot wait to go out on these roads again and experience them in a variety of seasons!
